I’ve always been a big music fan, I think most people are. Music is my way to escape reality and a way to express myself, music has been such an important part of my life.
I’m born in 1996 which means that I basically grew up with a lot of 80’s and 90’s music because my parents always played this type of music. They were never fans of the new stuff that would come out, so most of my childhood I wanted to listen to the new type of music because my parents would listen to this “old” crap on the radio. It was also the fact that my friends listened to newer music and I always wanted to keep up with them.
But as the years past by I started to listen more often to 80’s and 90’s music because I got bored with the music now a days because most of the time it’s about love or break up and to be honest, I like songs that bring a certain message with them.
Also the thing with older music is the instruments, most of them are so raw. A lot of music has been recorded with real instruments and now a days it’s most likely a mix of something with a weird beat in it.
A lot of 80’s and 90’s songs get forgotten about and whenever I tell people who I listen to a certain artist of song, they are like who is that or wow that you listen to that old boring stuff. Which I’m okay with, people can listen to whatever they want, it’s all up to themselves. But sometimes I think that we should appreciate it more than we do now, because there are so many good song with a beautiful message that people easily forget about which is such a sad thought, don’t you think?
